Despite its spooky moniker, the Spider Plant doesn't attract spiders; it is simply named for the smaller plantlets it sends out as it matures, called "spiderettes". As these spiderettes grow, they can be left on the plant to create a cascading look or they can be removed and propagated.

With long narrow green leaves, different cultivars of this plant also display cream or white variegation, as seen here. Preferring moderate to high light and moist conditions, the Spider Plant is an easy to maintain choice that will adapt to many conditions. Ideal for any desktop or bookshelf, the trailing look of this plant also makes an excellent choice in a green wall or as a hanging plant.
